The 2026 Hive Online World Championship is going on right now at www.HiveGame.com!
Thirty-two players qualified for the Group Phase. As of, Tuesday 1 September here are results from Groups A and B. (Please note that all comments are mine personally and do not reflect the official Tournament Committee opinion!)
Group A containing the current World Champion, DrBeeezz playing against RiccDawg, rizeagain, and Dzas is complete.
DrBeeezz and rizeagain will be continuing in the knockout phase of the tournament.
DrBeeezz won the group with a score of 2.5-0.5, while rizeagain finished with a score of 2-1.
Dzas was third at 1-2 and RiccDawg finished with a score of 0.5-2.5.
I am in group B with four-time world champion Jewdoka, KES, and Kaur50.
Jewdoka has played all twelve games and has finished with a match score of 2-1 and a game score of 7.5-4.5. He has qualified to move on, but the group winner has not yet been determined.
The only match that is not complete is KES vs Kaur50. They are battling for the second spot. Their match is currently tied 1-1. If KES wins both remaining games, he and Kaur50 will finish tied at 1.5-1.5. (I think that KES would move on based on his head-to-head victory over Kaur50). Any other result and Kaur50 moves on.
Sadly, I have been eliminated. Although I have done much better than I expected with draws against KES and Kaur50 and one game won against Jewdoka.
